Aquamarine takes its name from the Latin for "water of the sea", and was carried by sailors for protection on long voyages. The most intense shade, known among collectors as deep blue, is especially rare. It is paired here with white rabbit hair quartz, a connoisseur's stone whose fine, silky needles lie in perfect alignment — creating a band of moving light across the whole bead, a natural cat's-eye effect.
